Naqvi reviews final arrangements as Champions Trophy action set to kick off tomorrow

The wait is finally over as Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, marking the return of a major ICC tournament to the country after 29 years. 

The tournament will kick off tomorrow (Wednesday) in Karachi with an exciting opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand, where President Asif Ali Zardari will be the chief guest.

To celebrate the occasion, the Pakistan Air Force’s Sherdil aerobatic team will perform a spectacular air show, adding to the grandeur of the event.

Ahead of the tournament, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, where officials reviewed the final preparations and arrangements for the mega event. 

Addressing the meeting, Naqvi expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to successfully host the Champions Trophy, ensuring top-class facilities for all participating teams.

"We are fully prepared for the ICC Champions Trophy. All necessary arrangements have been made to deliver a flawless tournament," Naqvi stated. 

He stressed that international standards would be maintained across all venues, and cricket fans would be provided with the best possible facilities.

 "Hosting an ICC event after nearly three decades is a moment of pride for Pakistan. We will make sure this tournament is a resounding success, further enhancing our country’s reputation in global cricket," Naqvi added.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Amir Mir, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, Director of Security, Director of Infrastructure, Director of HR and Administration, Director of Media and Communication, Head of IT, and Head of the Women’s Cricket Department.
