Says Imran’s govt end very near: Rubbishes PTI claim of power struggle within PML-N top four

January 18, 2022 03:14 PM

PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the end of Imran Khan’s government is near as masses will soon witness an in-house change, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Maryam was talking outside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday where she and her husband Capt ® Muhammad Safdar came to attend their pleas against their convictions in Avenfield reference.

The PML-N vice-president declared that the PTI government during its stint in power demonstrated “no performance” and now its departure was a matter of days. Soon people would see an in-house change, she added.

She said the PML-N had suffered multitude of hardships but all these trials could not break it and the party remained intact. She was of the view that every member of the party stood by PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

She confessed that the party made mistakes in the past, but these blunders would not be repeated in future. She reiterated that there would be supremacy of constitution.

She said that Mian Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan soon but the time of his arrival would only be decided by the party.

She was amused by the situation in which the ruling PTI members were lashing out at their own government.

“Looking at the criticism of ministers on their own government, it seems that the end of the government is nigh,” she said adding that Pakistan could not tolerate this government even for one more day.

She said that the performance of the government was pathetic and even the federal cabinet members were giving vent to it.

On the Murree tragedy, Maryam said people lost their lives due to government’s incompetence. She said the tourists remained buried under snow but no government official came to their rescue. She reminisced that seeing people in distress, Shehbaz Sharif would put on his shoes and wade through the flooded streets. She further recalled that an ‘arrogant man’ used to say that Shehbaz was showing off.

“Now these rulers were enjoying their deep slumber and people kept dying in Murree blizzard,” she

Rubbishing PTI’s claim that four top PML-N leaders wanted to remove Nawaz Sharif from the leadership of the party, Maryam said the PML-N was still intact despite many a hardship.

Earlier, during the Avenfield reference case hearing, the National Accountability Bureau submitted its reply in Maryam’s acquittal application.

A division bench of Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani heard the case.

The court asked Maryam’s lawyer Azam Nazir Tarar to present his arguments on NAB’s reply during next hearing. Tarar informed the court that he didn’t see NAB’s reply yet.

With this, the court adjourned the hearing on NAB and Maryam’s appeals till Feb 10.
