Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has cried foul and raised concerns at the delay in the results of the local bodies election

Addressing a press conference, he alleged the state machinery was used to manipulate the election.

The local government elections have been delayed thrice, he said, adding that the constituencies were changed and the voter lists were invalid.

The Jamaat-e-Islami's mandate has been stolen as according to him the JI is the largest party in the Sindh capital.

The people of Karachi reposed trust in the Jamaat-e-Islami, he said, adding that the ECP did not play its  'due role'

Naeemur Rehman's remarks come a day after JI Amir Sirajul Haq announced protests in major cities of the country.

He said the delay in election results cast doubts. He said the JI ‘emerged as the largest party in the local bodies elections but the results were changed.

He made an appeal for holding protests in major cities of the country.
