Pir Syed Ali Imam Shah Gilani injured, guard killed in assassination attempt in Rawalpindi

An alleged assassination attempt was made on Pir Syed Ali Imam Shah Gilani, son of renowned Pir Syed Abdul Qadir Shah Gilani, near Rawat police jurisdiction in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

During the incident, unidentified attackers opened fire on the vehicle, killing the cleric’s security guard, Shafqat, on the spot.

Pir Ali Imam Shah Gilani was severely injured and shifted to a hospital in critical condition, according to sources.

Police quickly sealed the crime scene and initiated a thorough investigation.

SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehmood also visited the DHQ Hospital, stating that every angle of the attack is being probed and that the suspects will be apprehended soon.
