A traffic constable in Narowal was brutally assaulted by a motorist, resulting in a fracture to his right arm, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

The incident occurred when Police Constable Qaisar asked the citizen to produce his driving license, prompting a violent reaction from the individual.

The injured officer was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery and had a rod inserted to stabilise the fractured bone.

Authorities have condemned the attack and emphasised that such acts of aggression against law enforcement personnel will not be tolerated.

This is not the first incident of public violence coming to light in the region. Earlier in June 2025, police in Sialkot arrested several suspects involved in the torture of a man after video footage of the assault surfaced on social media.

District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shahzad had ordered a raiding team, led by Sialkot City DSP Tariq Mehmood, to apprehend those responsible.

The arrested individuals, including Haseeb, a recovery agent of a private electronics company, along with Zeeshan Rafiq, Ali Butt, and Sikandar Ali, had allegedly tortured a customer named Naeem after he failed to pay monthly instalments for appliances purchased on credit.

The Sialkot police registered a formal FIR against the suspects and unidentified individuals under sections 355, 431, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Police officials reiterated the importance of public cooperation with traffic authorities and urged citizens to report any violations through legal channels rather than resorting to violence.
