With ‘Tere Bin Laden’ completing 10 years since its release, superstar Ali Zafar says he feels 'honoured' to have been a part of the celebrated project.
Taking to Instagram, the actor penned a lengthy note and wrote: “10 years ago, on this day, I made my film debut with satirical comedy #TerebinLaden that became a sleeper hit with its unusual plot and comedy. The story of a Pakistani journalist “Ali Hassan” who makes a fake Osama Bin Laden tape as his ticket to the United States was applauded by audiences all over and I was recognised as an actor after some awesome years in music.”

He further adds, “Unfortunately the film was banned in Pakistan which I couldn’t understand till date as to why. I so wanted people to watch it in cinemas here.”
“Written and directed by Abhishek Sharma, produced by WalkWater media, the film was also a comment on #islamophobia 10 years ago as depicted in this scene. After this film I was offered several other projects and I ended up doing 7 films in Bollywood.” He said
Ali Zafar concluded the note saying: “It started a trend where casting a Pakistani actor became a possibility. Kudos to the makers and the audiences for creating history and giving me so much love on my debut film acting project in a new territory. This will always be special to me. If you missed it, watch to laugh your guts out.”
