Curtains on 15-year-old conflict in Larkana as suspects from both tribes surrender to police

A 15-year-old bloody conflict between Jeeho and Dhani tribes in Larkana came to an end on Saturday after 28 suspects from both the tribes turned themselves into the police, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to reports, the suspects, with head money, were among those who surrendered. 

Commenting on the development, Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar said that today peace had prevailed over hatred.

He further said that 25 people lost their lives while several were injured due to the conflict spanning 15 years. “As many as 2,000 acres of agricultural land was rendered barren and three villages were deserted due to the tribal feud,” Lanjar elaborated.

“However, from today, routine life has resumed,” he said, adding that Larkana Police had made history by not only arresting the culprits but also by bringing the two tribes closer to each other and thus paving the way for lasting peace in the area. 

This was a clear-cut message, the minister went on to say, for those who were opposed to peace that nobody was above law in Sindh. 

He also appreciated the SSP Larkana, saying his leadership, understanding of things and professional approach were praiseworthy. “The SSP and his entire team deserve accolades for restoring peace in the area,” Lanjar said, adding that development in any part of the world was linked to peace.

“The writ of the state will be enforced come what may,” the minister said emphatically.
