Lahore man suspects ‘toxic ice-cream’ killed his family

Lahore Police on Saturday recorded statement of the head of the family, Nasir, regarding death of his wife and three children in the Valencia Town, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his statement, Nasir said that his wife had been under mental stress for the last three years and had been taking medicines for the last six months.

He further said that after purchasing groceries, he reached home and asked his wife where are the children.

His wife told him that they have gone to watch a movie with Fatima. “I again asked my wife why she sent the children alone we could have gone with them.”

Nasir said that his wife asked him to eat ice cream as he had not eaten anything since the morning.

At the same time, neighbours knocked on the main door of the house. When he opened the door, their neighbours told him that their children lying motionless in the backyard.

He immediately rushed to the courtyard, where he saw the dead bodies of his children.

At that very moment, his wife's health started deteriorating, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she expired.

Nasir expressed the fear that his wife had mixed something toxic in the ice cream and then offered it to others.

Police and forensic teams have started re-examining the crime scene.

Later, the police released Nasir on human surety.
