Man dies trying to save son from Nullah Lai Rawalpindi; search continues for child
A father lost his life after jumping into Nullah Lai in an attempt to save his seven-year-old son, who had fallen into the fast-flowing drain in Rawalpindi's Gulistan Colony on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to Rescue 1122, the incident occurred at around 10:00 am in Lane No. 3, Gulistan Colony, where the absence of a protective wall caused the child to fall into the drain.
The boy was identified as Zahid, aged seven.

Rescue officials said the child's father, Mehrban, aged between 35 and 40, rushed to the scene after being informed of the incident.
Eyewitnesses said he spotted a piece of cloth floating in the water and believed it belonged to his son.
In a desperate attempt to rescue the child, he jumped into the drain.
However, both father and son were swept away by the strong current and disappeared.
Rescue 1122 immediately launched a rescue operation and recovered the body of Mehrban from the drain, while the search for seven-year-old Zahid continued for several hours after the incident.
