According to the Sindh Jewellers Association, Rs700 increase in the gold prices took the per tola price to Rs99,300, while the price of 10 gram gold increased by Rs600 to touch Rs84,134.

The price of 22-carat gold now stands at Rs78,039 per 10 gram. In contrast to the increase in gold prices in Pakistan, the association said, gold prices plummeted in the international market. The price of gold in international market was increased by $12 per ounce.

However, the increase in the gold prices in Pakistan is the result of depreciation of Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
