Abdul Qadir was one of the finest leg-spinners of the 1980s; he revived leg-spin in the modern era.

9 Sanjay Manjrekar (Son) – Vijay Manjrekar (Father)

Sanjay Manjrekar played for India as a batsman in the 1990s, now a commentator.

Vijay Manjrekar was a stylish Indian Test batsman in the 1950s-60s.

10. Shivnarine Chanderpaul is a former stalwart cricketer of the West Indies; his son Tagenarine Chanderpaul made his Test debut in 2022, echoing his father’s gritty style.

11. Jonny Bairstow (Son) – David Bairstow (Father)

Jonny Bairstow is an explosive England batter, a key part of the Test and ODI teams.

15. Shoaib Mohammad (Son) – Hanif Mohammad (Father)

Hanif Mohammad, part of the famous Mohammad cricketing family, fathered Shoaib Mohammad, who both played Test cricket.

Shoaib Mohmood played for Pakistan in the 1980s. Hanif Mahmood has been regarded as one of the greatest players of Pakistan who performed in the 1950s and 60s and made various records.  

16. Colin Cowdrey is a former England captain; his son Chris Cowdrey also captained England briefly.

17. David Bairstow – Former England wicketkeeper; his son Jonny Bairstow is a key figure in England’s modern cricket setup.

18. Kevin Curran is the father of England stars Tom and Sam Curran. Kevin himself was a stalwart in Zimbabwean cricket.

19. Lance Cairns was a famous all-rounder; his son Chris Cairns became one of New Zealand's greatest all-rounders in the 1990s.

20. Walter Hadlee, a former New Zealand captain, fathered Richard Hadlee, one of the world’s greatest all-rounders.

21. Rod Latham is a former ODI player; his son Tom Latham is a Test opener and former vice-captain.

24. Malcolm Waller – Son of Andy Waller, who both represented Zimbabwe.
