Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Democratic Movement President and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman have remained stick to their plans of resignation from assemblies as well as staging a long march against the government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
Both the leaders held a telephonic conversation to ponder over the opposition’s alliance next strategy after a setback in the last PDM meeting in which clear differences appeared among the alliance’s ranks over the issue of resignations from the assemblies that led to the postponement of the proposed long march plan of the PDM in March.
According to the sources, Fazl told Nawaz that they were waiting for the final reply from the Pakistan People’s Party, who has said that it would reply regarding the resignations from the assemblies after discussing the matter in its Central Executive Committee meeting.
Nawa assured Fazl that PML-N would resign from the assemblies and the long march would be staged at all costs.
Fazl said the PDM would hold a meeting after the PPP’s reply and then would decide on the future strategy of the opposition movement against the PTI-led government.
He said the long march has not been postponed but delayed till the final reply from the PPP and has asked the workers to get prepared for the long march.
