Samsung announces date for official rollout of One UI 7
Samsung Electronics has officially announced that the rollout of One UI 7 will begin on April 7, bringing a bold new design to enhance personalization and user control. The update introduces a fresh, AI-powered interface that aims to make interactions with Galaxy devices more intuitive than ever before. The rollout will start with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Z Flip6, gradually expanding to additional Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
A Bold New Design for Enhanced Personalization
One UI 7 offers a sleek, emotive design that delivers a streamlined and cohesive experience for Galaxy users. The update features a simplified home screen, redesigned widgets, and a refreshed lock screen, allowing users to easily customize their devices to suit their preferences.
A new feature, the Now Bar, provides real-time updates on the lock screen, allowing users to check vital information without unlocking their phone. For instance, during a morning run, users can quickly see their progress and the song playing on their Galaxy Buds with just a swipe.
Smarter AI Features for a More Intuitive Experience
One UI 7 introduces a range of AI-driven features that make daily tasks simpler and help users boost productivity and creativity.
Galaxy AI enhances the user experience by minimizing the need to switch between apps. AI Select intelligently recommends actions based on context—such as saving a video as a GIF with a simple swipe of the Edge Panel. Writing Assist allows users to summarize or automatically format text with ease.
The update also empowers users with creative control. Drawing Assist enables the creation of rich content by combining text prompts with images or sketches, while Audio Eraser lets users isolate and remove unwanted noise from videos.
Additionally, deeper integration with Google Gemini makes controlling the device as easy as speaking naturally. Users can simply say, “Find Italian, pet-friendly restaurants with outdoor seating nearby,” and Gemini will instantly pull up recommendations.
Natural language search extends to Settings, allowing users to make adjustments with simple voice commands. For example, saying “My eyes are feeling tired” will prompt One UI 7 to suggest options like adjusting the brightness or activating the Eye Comfort Shield.
Availability
One UI 7 will begin rolling out on April 7, initially for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5, Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The update will continue expanding to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the following weeks.
