CM Maryam, Chinese envoy agree to promote strategic, CPEC cooperation
Newly-appointed Chinese Consul General in Lahore Sun Yan called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday and discussed a variety of issues with her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The meeting agreed on further promotion of strategic cooperation, CPEC and to expand economic and cultural exchanges with Punjab government and Chinese Consulate.
Both sides stressed on bilateral cooperation in trade, infrastructure, energy and information technology in the meeting.
Maryam Nawaz called Pak-China friendship exemplary. Maryam Nawaz expresses gratitude to China for defence cooperation and cooperation in reducing tensions with other countries. Maryam appreciated new Consul General diplomatic skills.
Talking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said China has played a significant role in Pakistan’s regional security, sovereignty and development.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Punjab is keen to strengthen cooperation with Chinese partners in industrial development, technical cooperation and urban management.
She said Punjab aims to achieve economic development through industrialization, logistics corridors and technology partnerships under CPEC.
China’s Consul General Sun Yan said we highly valued the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China.
Sino-Pak relations are a shining example of strategic trust, mutual respect and unwavering solidarity, Chinese Consul General said.
He said China’s consistent principled support at international forums, Pakistan’s firm commitment to regional peace, stability and development are commendable.
He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has become a transformative engine of regional connectivity.
Maryam Nawaz said government is building Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Punjab for Chinese investors.
Allama Iqbal Industrial City and Quaid-e-Azam Business Park in Faisalabad are ready for Chinese investors, Maryam Nawaz said.
Punjab is providing investment opportunities to foreign investors in textiles, agriculture, renewable energy, electric mobility, waste management and IT.
We are setting up Punjab China Desk and Business Facilitation Centers for Chinese companies, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said issues like Punjab Board of Investment and Trade are creating a friendly investment environment for businesses.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Punjab Economic Zones are designed as “industrial gateways” for Chinese investment.
The economic zones focus on export manufacturing, supply chain integration and long-term industrial partnerships, Maryam Nawaz said.
Maryam Nawaz said Quaid-e-Azam Business Park is a plug-and-play model Garment City with ready-made infrastructure and utilities for foreign investors.
Chinese companies are making a significant contribution to technology transfer, industrial diversification and employment opportunities in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said the safety of Chinese citizens and projects is a priority for the Punjab government.
The Punjab government is providing a safe and friendly business environment to Chinese citizens and investors working in the province, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said the Punjab government is committed to strengthening cooperation, innovation and economic ties between the Punjab government and China.
The Punjab government is interested in further enhancing cooperation with China in innovation, green development and advanced manufacturing, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said China is Pakistan’s largest trading partner and a major investor in infrastructure and energy projects.
