Dal chawal to detox: Alia Bhatt’s daily diet secrets

Actress Alia Bhatt continues to turn heads with her flawless skin, post-pregnancy glow, and fit physique at 33.

Fans and media alike are always curious about what keeps the Bollywood star glowing and energetic while balancing motherhood, a thriving film career, and public appearances.

In a recent interview with Aap Ki Adalat, Alia revealed her love for traditional Indian food. For chapati, I try different variations like jowar, ragi, or simple roti, and I never touch sugar at all,” she said.

Dal Chawal, a staple Indian meal, is nutrient-rich, lightweight, and keeps one full for longer hours, making it a cornerstone of her diet. Alia has been following a clean, healthy eating routine for years.

In a 2018 interview with Vogue India, her former nutritionist Angie Kassabie shared that Alia focuses on a balanced and sustainable diet, primarily vegetarian but including protein pasta and seafood for overall health.

Importantly, Alia does not believe in starving herself. She enjoys desserts in moderation, carefully prepared to be low in carbs, fats, and cholesterol, with each serving ranging between 160–260 calories.

From time to time, she also follows short detox phases, consuming flavourful juices that help cleanse the body and support wellness. Post-pregnancy, Alia lost 18 kg within three months, a feat she attributed to hard work, consistency, and mindful eating, sparking admiration from fans and debate online.

Alia Bhatt’s diet proves that a combination of simple Indian staples, mindful indulgence, and balanced nutrition can help maintain health, fitness, and radiant skin all while enjoying the pleasures of food.
