Medical Board examines Imran Khan’s eye at Adiala Jail on court orders

A medical board constituted on court directives conducted a detailed examination of the affected eye of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, on Wednesday.

According to prison sources, the medical team—formed by the Commissioner Islamabad on the instructions of the Islamabad High Court—arrived at the jail along with necessary medical staff and an ambulance equipped with specialized equipment.

The board comprises senior doctors, including Professor Altaf Hussain (ENT Specialist), Professor Akhtar Ali Bandesha (Cardiologist), Dr. Muhammad Ali Arif (Medical Specialist, Associate Professor), Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan (Eye Specialist, Associate Professor), and Professor Nadeem Qureshi (Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon at Al-Shifa Eye Hospital).

Prison authorities said the medical examination is being carried out in compliance with court orders, with a team of expert doctors conducting a thorough assessment.

The process is ongoing and is being conducted in the presence of the PTI founder’s wife, Bushra Bibi.

Officials added that all required medical facilities have been made available during the examination. A comprehensive report prepared by the medical board will be submitted to the Chief Commissioner upon completion.
