Main suspect of Karachi bomb blast killed in encounter

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday claimed to have gunned down the main suspect in Karachi Saddar bomb blast case along with his accomplice in an operation, which it said, it had carried in collaboration with the personnel of law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) in Musharraf Colony located in Maripur area of the city late Tuesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), weapons and explosive material were also recovered from the slain terrorists, who were identified as Allah Dino and Nawab, and belonged to the Sindh Revolution Army.
In-Charge CTD Mazhar Mishwani told the media that as soon as the LEAs personnel stormed the hideout, the terrorists hiding inside returned the fire. “Following which, an exchange of fire ensued,” he explained.
Mishwani said sensing gravity of the situation more contingents of police were called in. “Two people were injured in the incident who succumbed to their injuries before reaching the hospital,” he informed.
However, two of their accomplices managed to flee taking advantage of darkness.
One person had died and eight were injured in an explosion in the Saddar area of Karachi on May 12. Many vehicles had also been destroyed in the incident.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the blast occurred near a coast guard’s vehicle. Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted injured people to the Jinnah Hospital.
Karachi Police, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies also reached the spot and started the investigation.
