The PML-N sources said that the walls were broken to widen the space for the party’s public meeting, adding: “The PML-N has assured the administration of restoring the broken walls into their original condition after the rally.”

The administration said, “The PML-N’s district leadership has deposited the money to us. The walls have been broken down in view of security risk.”

Meanwhile, Sargodha Deputy Commissioner Asghar Joiya said that a stand constructed for football players in the ground was demolished through heavy machinery.

He added that the stand and other structures in the ground demolished for the security of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.

“The PML-N administration has given a cheque worth Rs4.5 million for the reconstruction of the walls and other structures after the rally,” said the DC.

“The stand in the ground had to be broken when the management of the rally changed the direction of the stage in view of security,” added he.
