From Lahore to Bollywood: Ali Zafar celebrates 45 years

Lahore-born star Ali Zafar is celebrating his 45th birthday today, marking nearly two decades of unmatched success in music, film, and art. 

Born on May 18, 1980, the multifaceted artist has become a household name not only in Pakistan but across the subcontinent.

Ali Zafar, whose career spans singing, acting, modelling, screenwriting, and painting, began his artistic journey as a sketch artist at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Lahore. 

Soon after, he transitioned to television, featuring in popular serials like Kollege Jeans, Kanch Ke Par, and Landa Bazar. His charm and screen presence quickly made him a fan favourite.

In 2003, he stepped into the world of music with his debut album, Huqa Pani. The track "Channo" turned him into a music sensation overnight. 

Zafar's Bollywood debut came in 2010 with the satirical hit Tere Bin Laden, which established him as a cross-border star. 

Born into a scholarly family in Lahore, Ali is the son of university professors Mohammad Zafarullah and Kanwal Ameen. 

He completed his early education at CAA Public School and graduated from the Government College of Lahore and the National College of Arts.

His younger brother, Danyal Zafar, has also followed in his footsteps, entering the music and film industry.

Ali Zafar is married to Ayesha Fazli, a distant relative of Bollywood star Aamir Khan. The couple tied the knot in 2009 and are parents to two children.

As fans and well-wishers flood social media with birthday greetings, Ali Zafar continues to inspire with his artistic versatility and timeless charisma.
