Kashmir conflict a nuclear flashpoint: UK parliamentary report released

A newly released 42-page research report by the UK Parliament has raised grave concerns, warning that the Kashmir issue could potentially ignite a nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India.

According to the report, India remains adamant on resolving the Kashmir conflict through bilateral channels, refusing any form of international mediation.

Instead, the report says, India has relied on force, threats, and baseless accusations to maintain its hold on the territory.

Furthermore, the report does not spare the international community. It highlights the lacklustre role played by global powers, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom, in addressing the crisis.

The failure to actively engage in conflict resolution is described as a troubling example of global indifference in the face of a potentially catastrophic nuclear confrontation.
