FIA’s Waqar Ali appointed as Incharge S.W.A.T team in Islamabad

A new responsibility was assigned to Waqar Ali in the Counter-Terrorism Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as he was appointed as Incharge S.W.A.T. team in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The important task of maintaining discipline will be the topmost priority of the new incharge. Readiness of the S.W.A.T. team and supervision will be the responsibility of the incharge.

The incharge will also monitor all the official activities and assign different duties to SWAT team members.

The incharge will also supervise raiding and operational activities. A notification has already been issued by the Director CTW.

Arms and other necessary goods will be provided to the relevant officials. The administrative measures of the S.W.A.T. team in Islamabad will be the responsibility of the new incharge.

Earlier on May 7, 2026, new S.W.A.T. teams were formed in the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after a large-scale reshuffle. 

According to a notification issued on the instructions of the DG FIA, the Counter-Terrorism Department has been reorganized for Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar.
