Cotton price blossoms to record Rs18,000 per maund

Cotton price has topped the historic mark of Rs18,000 per mound on Thursday after it recorded Rs1,000 increase, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Cotton Ginners Forum maintained that there was a 70 percent rise in the arrival of cotton by November as compared to the same period last year.

Cotton Ginners Forum Chairman Ahsanul Haq said that by November 15 ginning factories received 68,53,000 cotton bales, 70 percent more than the last year.

He said the cotton’s total production in the country during the current year is expected to be between 0.80 to 0.85 million bales.
