The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Friday gave the go-ahead to import 200,000 tonnes of urea from China, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The ECC meeting chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also approved to import 35,000 tonnes of urea from Azerbaijan for the support of farmers who are seriously facing problems due to the shortage of urea in the country. 

 In this regard, the meeting accepted the lowest bidding offered by a Chinese company for the import of urea. The Urea will be imported from China at the government level. 

The meeting also allowed a premium on high-speed diesel for importing oil marketing firms for November and December. 

The ECC has also approved a supplementary grant of Rs 115 million for the Ministry of Housing. 

The ECC instructed the Tourism Corporation of Pakistan to find more inexpensive options for development.
