Mufti-e-Azam Pakistan Mufti Rafi Usmani passes away

Mufti-e-Azam Pakistan and author of dozens of religious books Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani passed away in Karachi on Friday night.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, he was the elder brother of well-known Islami religious scholar, Mufti Taqi Usmani.
Religious scholar Mufti Rafi Usmani had been ill for a long time and was under treatment in an intensive care unit of a local hospital in Karachi.
He was born on July 21, 1936. He was the eldest son of the Pakistan Movement leader Mufti Muhammad Shafi Usmani.
Mufti Rafi Usmani was the president of Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi and the Patron-in-Chief of Al-Madaris al-Arabiya Karachi.
He was an author of religious books including Dars Muslim, Two Nation Theory, and Navadar Fiqh.

Funeral prayer of the deceased will be offered tomorrow.

Condolences:

President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed their grief over the death of Mufti Rafi Usmani and paid tribute to his religious and academic services.

They said in their condolence messages that Mufti Rafi Usmani has rendered valuable services in the field of Fiqh, Hadith, and Tafsir.

They also prayed for the rest of the soul of the deceased and condolence to the heirs.

Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah also expressed his grief and sorrow over the death of a religious scholar.

Rana Sanaullah said in his condolence message that Mufti Rafi Usmani's religious and academic services, services in the promotion of religious knowledge will be remembered.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Sindh Governor expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over the death of Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani.
In a message, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said with the death of Mufti Rafi Usmani Pakistan has lost a moderate, noble, jurist and Mufti.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Mufti Rafi Usmani's valuable academic services will always be remembered as he had balanced thoughts and ideas ever.
The JUI head said Mufti Rafi Usmani presented the true image of Islam to the world through his writings and sermons.
Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori expressed his grief over the death and termed it a great loss not only for Pakistan but also for the world of Islam.
The Sindh governor said in his message that the gap created by death of Mufti Rafi Usmani will not be filled for a long time.
