AJK Prime Minister’s cabinet swearing-in ceremony faces delay
PPP members strongly protest against the cabinet consisting of 10 ministers resultantly consideration has been started to increase the size of the cabinet to 20 ministers
The newly-elected Azad Kashmir Prime Minister’s cabinet swearing in ceremony which was expected to take place in Muzaffarabad, has been postponed again on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Last night during a meeting chaired by Faryal Talpur, it was agreed that oath taking ceremony of the cabinet will be held on Tuesday.
Initially, it was decided that 10-member cabinet will be set up. Kashmir Affairs in-charge Faryal Talpur was actively involved in the consultation process along with Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.
PPP members strongly protest against the cabinet consisting of 10 ministers in front of the party leadership. After the protest, consideration has been started to increase the size of the cabinet to 20 ministers.
After the consultation meeting, the cabinet swearing-in ceremony is likely to take place at 6 pm today.
If the consultation process is not completed, the cabinet swearing-in may be further delayed. Final consultations are underway, an official announcement of the time of the swearing-in is expected soon.
The ongoing stalemate in the swearing-in of the cabinet is likely to end soon, sources said.
The members of the assembly still have reservations regarding the total number of ministers in the cabinet and the portfolios they will be given.
