Dr Zia-ul-Haq appointed new Executive Director of HEC

Dr Zia-ul-Haq has been appointed the new Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for a four-year term, according to official sources.

His appointment was approved during a high-level HEC meeting held on Tuesday, where the commission gave the final nod after reviewing shortlisted candidates.

Dr Zia-ul-Haq previously served as the Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University, a position in which he was widely regarded for his administrative and academic leadership.

Sources said the selection committee had earlier shortlisted four candidates following interviews, with Dr Zia-ul-Haq emerging as the final choice during today’s deliberations.
