Pakistan Shaheens storm into Asia Cup Rising Stars semi-finals with third consecutive victory

The unbeaten Pakistan Shaheens continued their dominant run in the Asia Cup Rising Stars, securing a place in the semi-finals after thrashing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by nine wickets in their third Group B match at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

This victory marks their third consecutive win in the tournament, following earlier triumphs against Oman and India A.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, UAE struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack, managing only 59 runs in 18 overs.

Syed Haider top-scored with 20 runs, while Pakistan’s bowlers shared the spoils: Sufyan Muqeem claimed 3 wickets for 12 runs, Ahmed Daniyal took 2 for 7, and Moaz Sadaqat picked up 2 for 19. Shahid Aziz, Mohammad Shahzad, and Arafat Minhas chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Chasing a modest target of 60, Pakistan Shaheens made light work of the run chase, reaching 61 in just 5.2 overs with the loss of one wicket. Moaz Sadaqat once again starred with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 37 off 15balls consisting 4 fours and 3 sixes. His consistency has been remarkable, having scored 96 against Oman and 79 against India A, both unbeaten innings. Ghazi Ghauri supported with 16 not out, while Mohammad Naeem contributed 6 runs.

With this emphatic win, Pakistan Shaheens march confidently into the semi-finals, scheduled for November 21, as strong contenders for the title.
