Red Book listed human smuggler arrested by FIA from Gujranwala

During the ongoing crackdown against human smuggling, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone has arrested a Red Book listed human smuggler and two others, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

The FIA arrested accused Safdar Bashir, Imtiaz Ali, and Nazim Ali from Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat areas of Punjab.

Accused Safdar Bashir collected millions of rupees from citizens after an assurance of providing employment in Italy.

FIA sources said that 11 cases of human smuggling were filed against him in 2022 and 2023. 

Accused Nazim Ali generated Rs1,50,000 from a citizen and promised him to provide him job in Greece.

Later, Nazim Ali sent this citizen to Iran and Turkey illegally. The accused has been wanted by the FIA for the last seven years. A case was registered against him in 2018. 

Accused Imtiaz Ali collected Rs2 million from a citizen after promising them to provide them job in Brazil.

Later, the accused failed to send them abroad. The accused escaped after collecting the amount from the citizens.

A spokesman of the FIA said that further investigations were underway.
