Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz on Sunday criticised the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) for using the burial place of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah allegedly for political gains.
PDM is an alliance of 11 opposition political parties trying to dislodge the incumbent government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). On Sunday, PDM was holding the second public meeting of its protest movement against the government.
Shibli said in a tweet, “It is extremely condemnable and shameful to use the burial place of the Father of The Nation for political purposes. They should have gone to the shrine of the Father of The Nation and tendered an apology for ruthlessly plundering resources of Pakistan, diverting from his ideology, and filling their own pockets and plunging the people of Pakistani into poverty.”
