PTI leaders, minister call on President Alvi, discuss upcoming elections

ICaretaker federal information minister  Murtaza Solangi and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leaders on Tuesday called on President Dr Arif Hussain Alvi in Islamabad, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

PTI leaders Rauf Hassan and Barrister Umair  held a detailed discussion with President Alvi on the current political scenario of the country.  

 PTI leaders emphasized their expectations for a level playing field in the upcoming elections.

They urged the President to play his role in ensuring fairness and transparency in the electoral process.

Sources indicated that the meeting was so detailed that the President asked his own officers to leave the room, highlighting the importance of the discussions.

Another crucial topic addressed in the discussion was the cases of detained PTI leaders and workers including PTI Chairman Imran Khan. 

A matter of concern that was discussed during the interaction was the constant departure of PTI leaders. They held conversations aimed to understand the reasons behind these departures, particularly in the context of events on May 9.

In a parallel development, Information Minister Murtaza Solangi and PTI senior leader Shafqat Mehmood held a comprehensive meeting. The discussions also included the upcoming elections, with a focus on the party's reconciliation policy.

There have been concerns within PTI about potential divisions and internal disputes.

Shafqat Mehmood reportedly emphasized the importance of a reconciliation policy to address these issues and prevent the party from experiencing further divisions.
