Number of senior officers on contract in federal ministries exceeds 110

The number of senior officers on contract in federal ministries has exceeded 110, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Sources in the Establishment Division told the 24News TV channel that there were 22 officers on contract in MP Scale-I, over 20 in MP Scale-II, and 29 officers in MP Scale-III.

Similarly, they added, there were nine officers on contract in the Cabinet Division, four in the Ministry of Climate Change, one in the Ministry of Information, one in the Establishment Division, one in Maritime Affairs, three in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seven in the Ministry of Finance, two in the Ministry of Planning and Development, eight in the Ministry of Railways, one in Ministry of Defence and two in the National Security Division.

Sources disclosed that the highest number of officers on contract were in the Law Ministry and the IT Ministry where there were 11 such officers each.

They went on to say that there were seven officers on contract in the Ministry of Finance, one in the Ministry of Industry and Production, two in the Ministry of Trade, two in the Ministry of Information, two in the Ministry of National Food Security, seven in the Ministry of Science and Technology, two in the Ministry of Petroleum and seven in the Ministry of Planning and Development.

Sources said that the contract of these officers would be extended on merit, in light of audit reports compiled by private companies.

There would be a performance audit of MP Scale and Special Professional Pay Scale officers,
