The Federal Board of Revenue has ordered Sarina Isa, the wife of Justice Qazi Faez Isa, to pay Rs35million in payable taxes.

The FBR has sent a 164-page order to Sarina Isa on September 14 in which she has been ordered to pay Rs35million in taxes after an investigation as per a Supreme Court’s order in a case against Justice Qazi Faez Isa regarding assets beyond means case.

However, Sarina Isa has rejected the order in her reply deeming it illegal and said the FBR passed the illegal directive without hearing her.

She said the FBR did not consider her salary as well as agriculture income while passing the order.

Sarina said the FBR even did not mention income from her sold property in Karachi in her income.

She said this order shows that the government wants to remove her husband from his the Supreme Court by hook or by crook.

She said the FBR did not provide details of her Income Tax Return statements despite repeated requests.

Sarina said the FBR neither recorded her statement nor heard her before passing the order and she would challenge this illegal order in the court.
