Govt to review LNG sale agreement with power plants

The government has decided to review the LNG sale agreement with LNG power plants and exempt them from the mandatory purchase of LNG.
According to sources, the government will exempt the power plants from the mandatory purchase of LNG from January 2022. In this regard, the Cabinet Committee on Energy has approved key decisions. According to the sources, LNG plants won’t be bound anymore to buy LNG from the government after 2022. The Cabinet Committee on Energy has approved the plan to end the condition of take 66 per cent or pay policy.
