Extremely bad news for the jobless youth of Punjab as the provincial government has shelved its plan to recruit 34,000 teachers due to the non-availability of funds, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Sources have told 24News TV channel that the Education Department has barred the PPSC from giving an ad for making new recruitments, saying what to speak of hiring new teachers when it does not have money to pay salaries to those already serving.

The Education Department has made it clear that there is no question of making fresh inductions when it is already cash starved.

It is reminded here that 2,000 heads and 300 senior headmasters of grade-17 were to be recruited under the PPSC besides 31,700 teachers in grades 14, 15 and 16.
