Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in London and exchanged views on the ongoing political situation and other important affairs, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

The PML-N leaders also discussed the flood relief activities in the country.

They had a consensus on holding the general election on time. However, the duo discussed the names of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and others for the post of CM after the possible change of the Punjab government.

The meeting took place at the office of Nawaz’s son Hassan Nawaz. Shehbaz Sharif’s son Salman Shehbaz, former federal finance minister Ishaq Dar, and Hassan Nawaz were also present.

After the meeting concluded, Nawaz Sharif saw off Shehbaz Sharif at the door and hugged him.

Talking to the media, Shahbaz Sharif listed his government’s flood relief feats.

The government is giving 25 thousand rupees to every flood-affected family.

"Friendly countries are sending aid through planes, trains and ships.

"The coalition government managed seventy billion rupees.

"People are generously giving donations to flood victims.

"The federal and provincial governments are one for the cause."

Prime Minister Shehbaz left for England yesterday to attend the state funeral of late Queen Elizabeth going to be held on Sept 19 (tomorrow). After that, he will fly to New York to participate in the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir said yesterday the premier would take the decision on the appointment of a new army chief after holding consultations with Nawaz Sharif in London.
