Khosa delivers Imran Khan’s letter to chief justice

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Latif Khosa on Thursday said that a letter from the party’s founder, sent through his sister Aleema Khan, was delivered to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Khosa said the Chief Justice listened calmly and assured that “whatever happens will be conveyed within 24 hours.”

He added that concerns regarding the judiciary and prison conditions were also raised.

“The Chief Justice has sought suggestions on prison reforms,” Khosa stated, highlighting what he described as “unprecedented head-to-toe searches” inside jail. He compared the treatment with that of former premiers Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, saying such measures were never applied to them.

Khosa further alleged that unrelated individuals were being allowed into meetings between the PTI founder, his family, and his lawyers. According to him, the Chief Justice emphasised the importance of staying within “limits and constraints” but assured that all complaints would be addressed with “better solutions.”

Meanwhile, speaking outside the Supreme Court, Aleema Khan expressed disappointment over the judiciary’s role in cases related to her brother. “In the past, the Chief Justice used to take suo motu notice of any injustice. Today, the judiciary is the last door for us; the people cannot go anywhere else,” she remarked.

Aleema Khan criticised the Islamabad High Court for delays in proceedings against the PTI founder, saying that cases had not been filed for eight months.

“The Toshakhana case remains pending, while the Al-Qadir Trust case has now been fixed for September 25,” she said. She added that PTI’s legal team would approach the High Court tomorrow to request an early hearing in the Toshakhana case.

Both Khosa and Aleema stressed that the judiciary holds the responsibility to ensure justice, warning that prolonged delays and unequal treatment only deepen public distrust.
