After the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) notified the guidelines for the registration of medicines in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the guidelines, full information will be provided to applicants before their registration. The move will promote accountability and transparency in registration.

All pharmaceutical companies will be provided with full facilitation for submission of their applications, and international standards regarding the quality and efficacy of medicines have been taken into account.

The new guidelines will bring harmonization to the regulatory review process for drug registration in Pakistan.

A transparent and efficient registration process will facilitate timely access to quality medicines.
