A large number of people protesting against the Lahore incident in different parts of Rawalpindi city finally converged outside Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid’s Laal Haveli on Monday and raised slogans against him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The protestors laid siege to the haveli while contingents of police and Rangers reached the site to disperse the protestors.

The protestors kept demanding the expulsion of France’s ambassador to Pakistan.

Security in and around Laal Haveli as well as that of Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid himself had been tightened even before Monday’s protests following the deterioration in the law and order situation owing to clashes between defunct Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and the law-enforcement agencies on Sunday and before.

24News has learnt that people close to the interior minister have advised him to restrict his engagements.
