Lahore’s Anmol Hospital becomes part of Int’l Atomic Energy Agency’s network

Another honour for Pakistan as the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has achieved an important milestone in its collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) after the inclusion of Anmol Cancer Hospital, Lahore in the IAEA’s global network, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

In February, 2026, the hospital had been awarded the collaborating center status at an agreement signed at the United Nations office in Vienna.

The agreement bears the signatures of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and IAEA DG Rafael Mariano Grossi.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was also present at the meeting.

Member Science PAEC Dr. Shakeel Abbas Roofi has said that 21 hospitals that operate under the umbrella of the institution are a ray of hope for the patients across the country. “This honour is a proof of the world’s trust in the services rendered by our doctors for the treatment of cancer patients.”

Roofi has further said that five institutions of Pakistan have become the IAEA’s collaborating centers up till now.

PAEC DG Dr. Shazia Fatima has said that Pakistan’s representation in the IAEA’s global network is a matter of pride for the nation.

Anmol Hospital provides facilities of radio therapy, chemotherapy and nuclear medicine to over 100,000 cancer patients every year at a very low cost.

Besides that, the hospital has also played an important role in the training of hundreds of medical physicists and technologists
