Sindh Rangers arrest three members of extortion gang in New Karachi operation

Sindh Rangers have carried out a major operation in Karachi’s New Karachi area, arresting three suspects allegedly involved in extortion activities linked to the Sammad Kathiawadi gang, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the arrested individuals have been identified as Hamad Patni, Shehzad Patni and Saad, son of Ramdani. Officials said the suspects were actively involved in collecting extortion money from targeted victims.

Investigators revealed that the accused used bank account numbers to receive extortion payments, which were later withdrawn and delivered to members of the criminal network.

Sources further stated that the suspects were acting on instructions from Sammad Kathiawadi and Usama bin Jameel. They were also reportedly linked to the Waseeullah Lakho gang, a group known for organised criminal activity in the city.

Rangers said that raids are continuing to arrest other members of the network who are still at large. The arrested suspects have been handed over to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) for further interrogation.

Authorities said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle organised extortion networks operating in Karachi.
