The Punjab government on Tuesday took important decisions on reopening educational institutions in the province.
At a meeting with the provincial education minister, owners of private education institutions agreed on the standard operating procedures. According to the agreement, schools will be opened in Punjab in phases from September 15. Classes from fifth to 10th will start from September 15. Schools will divide students in two groups and they will be called to classes on alternate days. The distance between two children in school has been decreased from six feet to three feet.
The government has told private school owners to prepare plans for schools reopening by August 25. A final decision on reopening schools on September 15 would be taken on September 7. Classes of students from class one to four are likely to begin from January next year.
