The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Thursday approved $235 million in loan for Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the declaration by the Bank, the loan has been given for the construction and upgradation of the 222-km long highway connecting Shikarpur in Sindh to Rajanpur in Punjab.

Under the project, N-55, which has presently two lanes, will be developed into a four-lane road.

Furthermore, the project includes building bus stops, emergency centres and posts for the traffic police.

The declaration further says that the highway is vital for connecting Karachi and Gwadar to the Central Asian states.
