DC Islamabad refuses PTI to organize rally

August 19, 2022 11:49 PM

The district administration of Islamabad has refused to grant permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for organizing rallies tomorrow (Saturday) due to imposition of the Section 144 in the capital.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had announced to stage a protest rally to release his party’s arrested leader Shahbaz Gill in Islamabad on Saturday.
The administration has claimed that ‘Section 144’ is already imposed in the city of Islamabad since July 23, 2022, to avoid any untoward law and order situation.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad said that all kinds of rallies, gatherings, and processions are prohibited under the section in the city.
More than 5 people cannot assemble at a place for political or religious purposes under Section 144, he added.
Strict action will be taken against any violator of Section 144 in the city as per law, the DC warned.
