Islamabad admin, Ulema committee agree to rebuild Madni Mosque in 4 months
The dispute over the demolished Madni Mosque at Rawal Dam Chowk has been amicably resolved following successful negotiations between the Islamabad administration and the Ulema Action Committee, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, under the agreement, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will complete the reconstruction of Madni Mosque within four months.
In the meantime, arrangements for holding the five daily congregational prayers will be made at the mosque site in consultation with both parties.
The pact also clarified that the notification regarding 50 mosques in Islamabad was fake, and the administration had not issued any such list.
It was further agreed that in the future, all matters concerning mosques in the federal capital would be handled in consultation with the Ulema Action Committee.
The agreement was finalised between Mufti Owais Aziz, Ameer of JUI Islamabad, and a representative of the Islamabad administration.
