In-laws try to burn American woman for cancelling her hubby’s US visa

An American woman of Pakistani origin was allegedly subjected to torture by her in-laws in Jhelum when she cancelled her husband’s US visa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Police said the American national was beaten up by her in-laws. They registered a case against her in-laws on her complaint.
According to victim Maryam Bibi, she was tortured by her in-laws. She said her clothes were ripped during her struggle with her in-laws. She alleged that they locked her and her two-year-old daughter in a room and tried to set fire to the room.
She further alleged that her husband, father-in-law and other relatives snatched $7,000 and her mobile phone.
She said her in-laws were furious because she cancelled her husband’s US visa because of their inappropriate behaviour.
The victim claimed that the neighbours came to her rescue and saved her and her daughter from her in-laws.
Police said that they would arrest the accused as soon as possible.
