Sher Afzal Marwar, an advocate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman held a meeting with his client in jail and informed the media that Imran Khan refused to give tickets to non-participants of the PTI workers' convention.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Marwat talked to the media after a meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail on Tuesday and said he carried nomination papers with him for an endorsement of the party's founder chairman.
He said the founder chairman of the PTI expressed his happiness at the workers' convention in Balochistan and said Imran Khan said that priority will be given to workers in the election.
Marwat said he would approach the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the behaviour of the jail administration as it is putting obstacles in the meeting with his client. He added that he would also move an application to the IHC regarding an extension of the duration of the meeting with Imran Khan as all issues related to the upcoming election would not be discussed in a short time.
He also raised questions about the transparency of the upcoming general elections in the presence of a controversial Chief Election Commission.
Marwat also told the media that during his meeting, the founder chairman of PTI categorically said that those politicians who have gone to other parties would not be taken back into the PTI and would also not be awarded party tickets.
Abruptly replying to a question about the sitting CEC's appointment in the last PTI era, Marwat said General Bajwa was also appointed during the regime of Nawaz Sharif.
