Pakistan summons Afghan Deputy Mission over terror attacks from Afghan soil

Pakistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a military camp in North Waziristan carried out by the Khwarij group, Kharji Gul Bahadur, which resulted in the martyrdom of four Pakistani soldiers, officials said on Friday.

To convey its protest, Pakistan summoned the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed grave concern over the continued support and facilitation reportedly provided by the Afghan Taliban regime to the FAK/TTP, enabling terrorist attacks against Pakistani military and civilian targets along the Pak-Afghan border and adjoining areas.

Officials emphasized that the permissive environment enjoyed by these groups in Afghanistan violates the Taliban regime’s international commitments and assurances to Pakistan that Afghan territory would not be used to launch attacks against any country. Pakistan demanded a full investigation and decisive action against the perpetrators and facilitators of attacks originating from Afghan soil.

The Taliban regime was urged to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable measures against all terror groups operating in Afghanistan, including their leadership, and to prevent further use of Afghan territory for terrorism against Pakistan.

Pakistan also made it clear that it reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens, warning that all necessary measures would be taken in response to terrorism emanating from Afghan soil.
