President approves de-notification of IHC's Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri

President Asif Ali Zardari, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister, approved the de-notification of Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, a judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), on Thursday.

The decision follows a ruling by the Islamabad High Court, which declared the appointment of Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri illegal. In its judgement, the court found that he was not eligible for appointment as a high court judge as he did not possess a valid LLB degree at the time of his appointment.

In light of the verdict, the Islamabad High Court directed Justice Jahangiri to vacate his office. Subsequently, the President approved his de-notification, formally removing him from his position as a judge of the Islamabad High Court.
