The preparations for celebrating March 23 have been put into top gear after the government allowed holding of the Pakistan parade, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday, quoting its sources.

There was a possibility of the cancellation of the Pakistan Day parade for the second consecutive year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But, the government has allowed holding of the parade, provided the anti-virus guidelines will be observed strictly.

The parade will be held at Shakkarparian Ground in Islamabad.

Last year, the government had cancelled the Pakistan Day Parade scheduled to be held on March 23 as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The decision was taken by the National Security Committee in its meeting. The committee had decided to impose a ban on public events and the Pakistan Day Parade was no exception.
