Police on Friday registered a case against one group of doctors which resorted to firing on their rivals at Gujrat’s Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital while no case was registered against the other group, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Quoting sources, 24News TV channel reported that Civil Lines Police had inserted 12 clauses, including those related to attempted murder and spreading terror, in the case registered against 11 people, including four armed doctors, on behalf of Dr Junaid, YDA Gujrat President.

Police said that five doctors, including PMA President Dr Usama Talat and four armed men, had been nominated in the case.

Meanwhile, patients and their attendants are facing difficulties as doctors at Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital have gone on a strike following the call given by PMA President Dr Usama Talat over the police's refusal to register a case against YDA doctors.

Police said seven doctors from both sides were injured in a clash between two groups of doctors.

The incident had taken place following a group of doctors displayed banners of the YDA Punjab Council election.
